One night, Lion is getting ready for bed. He reads his favorite bedtime stories and sings his favorite bedtime songs. He turns on his night-light. Then he hears a noise...
Tap! … Tap!
“Cos’è quel rumore?” sussurra.
Tap! … Tap!
“Quel rumore… viene fuori dalla finestra!”
“What is that noise?” he whispers.
Tap! Tap!
“The noise… it’s coming from outside the window!”
Scende dal letto. Afferra una mazza da baseball e, in punta di piedi, si avvicina alla finestra.
Tappiti-tap! TAP!
He gets out of bed. He grabs a baseball bat and tip-toes towards the window.
Tappity-tap! TAP!
“È un mostro!” pensa Leone. Afferra il casco che usa per andare in bici e se lo infila in testa per proteggersi. Sente di nuovo il rumore.
TAP! ... TAP! ... Tappiti-TAP!
“It’s a monster!” thinks Lion. He grabs his bicycle helmet (literally: the helmet he uses to ride his bike) and puts it on his head to protect himself. He hears the noise again.
TAP! ... TAP! ... Tappity-TAP!
Leone va nel panico. “Si sta avvicinando! Sembra il mostro più GROSSO e SPAVENTOSO di tutti i tempi!”
Tappiti-tap!
TAPPITI-TAP!
TAPPITI-TAPPITI-TAPPITI…. TAP!
Lion panics. “It’s getting closer! It sounds like the BIGGEST, SCARIEST monster of all time!”
Tappity-tap!
TAPPITY-TAP!
TAPPITY-TAPPITY-TAPPITY…. TAP!
"AHHHH!" grida Leone. Scappa dalla finestra e si nasconde sotto il letto. Si copre la testa con la coperta. Stringe la mazza da baseball tra le mani e…
TAPPITI-TAP!
"EEEK!" screams Lion. He runs away (escapes/flees) from the window and hides under the bed. He covers his head with the blanket. He holds his baseball bat in his hands, and….
TAPPITY-TAP!
Una ranocchia salta sul davanzale della finestra. La ranocchia, con indosso un tutù e delle scarpette da tip-tap, fa un balletto.
TAP!
“Ehilà, Leone! Ci sei?” dice la ranocchia.
A frog jumps up on the window sill. The frog, wearing a tutu and tap shoes, does a little dance.
TAP!
“Heya, Lion! Are you there?” says the frog.
Guarda dentro la camera da dietro la finestra e vede Leone che si nasconde sotto il letto. È avvolto in una coperta… ha in testa un casco da bicicletta… in mano stringe una mazza da baseball. Ha un aspetto ridicolo.
(E, a essere onesti, lui si sente ridicolo.)
She looks into the room from behind the window and sees Lion hiding under the bed. He's wrapped in a blanket... on his head is a bicycle helmet ... in his hands a baseball bat. He looks ridiculous.
(And, to be honest, he feels ridiculous.)
“Uhm… ho dei nuovi passi di danza da farti vedere,” gli dice la ranocchia. “Ma al momento mi sembri occupato. Ritornerò più tardi. Ci si vede!”
"Umm... I have some new dance moves for you to see," the frog tells him. "But at the moment you seem busy. I'll come back later. See ya!"
La ranocchia salta giù dal davanzale e, allegra, se ne va danzando.
Tap-TAP! Tappiti-tappiti-TAP!
The frog jumps off the windowsill and happily dances away. (literally: happily, goes off dancing.)
Tap-TAP! Tappity-tappity-TAP!
Morale: A volte la nostra immaginazione rende le cose più spaventose di quanto non siano.
Moral: Sometimes our imaginations make things scarier than they really are.
